Biography

 
Geoff Hill completed his BSc in Environmental Science at the University of British Columbia with a thesis project on UBC Stormwater Management. During this degree he founded and coordinated the UBC Biodiesel Project. After working as a consultant in the biofuels field Geoff returned to UBC to complete his MSc in Geography on the impacts of climate change on High Arctic sedge meadow communities. Following this he taught at the University of Alberta for a semester in Environmental Science and Climatology. After founding and chairing a Cooperative Community Center in Canmore he returned once again to UBC to conduct PhD work on human waste management in remote Alpine and Arctic environments. He is concurrently running a small business, called Switchover.ca, converting diesel automobiles and generators to burn used cooking oil as fuel.
